New "about" of studio_4/quarter2008 by admin 17:43 Sat 30 Aug 2008 4quarter/2008 현재, 스투디오 하투크라이온의 theme은 “서울”입니다. 이번 시즌부터는 특별히 스투디오 activitiy 인 Table을 통해서 서울을 베이스로 다양한 분야에서 활동하는 indivisual들과 교류를 하게 될 것이며 요괴와 하투크라이온의 패션작업은 그러한 교류를 투영해 내는 결과물이 될 것입니다. 지난 시즌까지 산책을 theme 으로 했던 여성복, 하투크라이온과 주변에서 일어나는 사회현상들에 대해 “시비 당한 것들에게 시비 걸기”라는 theme으로   작업했던 남성복, 요괴는 지금까지의 Theme에 큰 변화를 두지 않으며 오직 공간적인 접근을 “Seoul”로 제한할 것입니다. “Seoul” 이란 공간적 Theme은 스투디오에 소속된 디자이너들 스스로 정한 것임에도 불구하고 왜 “서울” 인가에 대한 질문에 대한 해답은 아직 없으며 어느 정도의 작업들을 진행, 발전시키면서 “서울”이라는 Theme이 우리에게 던져졌던 이유를 도출해 내고자 하고 있습니다. 한가지 분명한 것은 4quarter/2008현재, “Seoul”이라는 도시는 많은 가능성을 보유하고 있는 가장 Hot한 도시중의 하나임에 틀림이 없다는 것입니다. 스투디오 하투크라이온은 이러한 동시대적인 trend를 catch해내어 작업을 시작 할 것이며 서울을 주제로 한 작업의 결과물들이 다른 도시인들의 마음을 설레게 할 수 있기를 희망합니다 동시에 “서울” 이라는 도시의 이미지가 더 이상 의무감만을 갖은 자들의 접근과 해석으로 인해 훼손되는 것을 원치 않습니다. In the 4th quarter of 2008, the theme of Studio Ha:RTOCRYON will be “Seoul”. During this season especially, there will be a lot of mutual exchanges through our studio activity, Table, among individuals who work in various fields, based in Seoul. The fashion works of Yokoe and Ha:RTOCRYON will be the end products reflecting those exchanges. The women’s fashion by Ha:RTOCRYON with a theme of ‘stroll’ and the men’s fashion by Yokoe with the theme of ‘disputing what’s been disputed’ on various social phenomena, will still hold the same stream of theme, only limiting the spatial approach to ‘Seoul’. Although the spatial theme of ‘Seoul’ was decided by designers themselves in the studio, there is no answer to why it has to be ‘Seoul’: only with a certain degree of process and development in the work will the reasons become clearer. One obvious factor is that now, the 4th quarter of 2008, ‘Seoul’ is a city with so many possibilities, one of the hottest cities in the world. Studio Ha:RTOCRYON will begin its work reflecting contemporary trends, and hopes that people living in other cities will also be excited by our end products resulting from our research. At the same time, we would not want to further downgrade the image of ‘Seoul’ city by adopting the same approach and interpretation as those people who act only from a sense of duty.... The fashion in the pictures looks a bit obstinate and in a way humorous as well. To observe their fashion styles both in the past and the present, which might be situated in between the old Korean traditional fashion and the contemporary one, will become an interesting play to reconfigure the Vintage look of Korean fashion....
